Vate [V19]
In a world in which social networks favor accelerated music, one-minute fragments and introductions that must work in the first 5 seconds, making an album with low BPMs and long themes like in “Variantes” is today somewhat contrarian.
In the same way that a virus mutates when it is reproduced repeatedly, Variantes’ music mutates from one variant to another throughout its length. The sounds are made up from snippets stolen from many of Vate’s previous tracks. Anyone who’s already familiar with the previous discography will be able to detect some of these sounds.
The cadence and rhythm of the album are slow, they represent how our conception of time changed for some long months during the beginning of this decade and how we pretended that everything was normal when, even three years later, normality and certainty had completely disappeared from our lives.
This album is based on the live set presented in Audiotalaia‘s Ruido Vírico show.
